He is obviously the best renowed, the most respected as well as the most generous amoung Cambodian photographers. The most internationally recognized photojournalist in the country, he regularly develops edifying tales in pictures, and visual in which you can feel the quality of colors and shape that reflect the student in painting he used to be. Water, fire, violent relationships in nature are concerned to this environmental defender who is also a survivor from the Khmer Rouge regime.

This photograph is taken from the series titled “From hunting to shooting” in which he takes the defense of wild birds and asks that we stop to kill them to eat them. He combines the aesthetics of his series on fire and the use of papers cut that he designed to evoke, forty years later, the forced evacuation of Phnom Penh by the new masters, that he lived in 1975, when he was 5 years old.
