Inspired by outstanding Cambodian rock and roll scene in the 60’s artist takes her own approach illustrating few of the most famous Cambodian singers.Only few photographs remaining of popular singers Pan Ron and Ros Serey Sothea made it very challanging and creativly encouraging mission to “re-create” divas in new, modern illustration. One of the most influencial nowadays singer, Kak Channty have left unforgettable inpact in todays Cambodian rock scene and inspired artist creating three separate artworks connecting all three female singers, connecting past with present. All artworks examinate how female creatives inspire one another despite culture background, time or history.Ieva Ragauskaite is 25 year old female artist creating art for women about women. As a young girl, who grew up with only few female role models, she felt very confused about her own art and impact in art community. Now constantly looking upon other creative “ sisters” , strong inspiring women of the past, artist creates artworks that tries to create dialog with all these women who she have never met but who have inspired her.
