Brahma’s smile show of The Four Sublime States: Meta (Loving-kindness), Kakrona (Compassion), Moteta (Sympathetic Joy), and Oppekha (Equanimity) that blessing to all human and animals, A Smile is represented of Cambodian people.
The Lotus flower is even believed to have given birth to the sun. The roots of the Lotus are planted in the soil of the pond or river bottom when it grows up from the water, the flower will be bloom by the sunshine, and the beauty with good aroma appeals to all the people. The Lotus is a sacred flower for the Buddhists.
In this case, it is the equivalent of a person who is from a lower rank, can become a person with an educated, a scholar, a better person or leadership if they do the right thing and try hard to study.
The Roots is moving forward like a snake is representing a great culture in Khmer, thousands of years old that are still steadfast and will never go.
